Video production, brand identity, and creative strategy for small businesses, vendors, and civic organizations who deserve to be seen.

IOrigins

Studio 555 is a video and creative production studio founded in the San Francisco Bay Area, built for small businesses, vendors, and civic organizations who deserve to be seen. The studio was founded by Rasul, an Oakland-born creative whose work sits at the intersection of storytelling, design, and community. His roots in one of America's most culturally and politically significant cities shape everything he makes.

IIThe Training

Rasul grew up in Oakland at a time and in circles where art, activism, and identity were inseparable. He attended Oakland School for the Arts, a school with a remarkable lineage of alumni across music, film, design, and civic life, before going on to earn a BS in Landscape Architecture from UC Davis.

That training deepened something he had always had: a way of thinking about people, space, and experience that goes far beyond aesthetics. Design, at its core, is about who something is for and what it makes them feel. That question has never left him.

IIIThe Work

Before Studio 555, Rasul spent over three years as a graphics specialist and 3D visualization lead at an environmental design firm, producing flythrough videos, brand presentations, and visual systems that brought complex projects to life.

Simultaneously he was building a parallel track in film and media, getting thrown into the deep end early. He managed social media for the Mayor of Fremont, boosting civic visibility and writing directly in the mayor's voice. He produced an ad campaign for the Unity Council in Oakland's Fruitvale District championing local businesses. He covered marches and community actions with Families in Action, helping amplify demands and voices that needed to be heard. He documented press conferences, public unveilings, and community milestones across the East Bay.

IVRise East

The culmination of that work is the Rise East Community Portrait Series, seven documentary videos covering one of the most significant civic investments in Oakland's recent history. The series aired on the Rise East YouTube channel and stands as a testament to what community storytelling can do when it is given the craft it deserves.

VWhat We're Here For

Studio 555 brings all of that together, video production, brand identity, web development, and content strategy, into packages built for the pace and budget of real small businesses across Oakland, the East Bay, and the broader Bay Area.

Whether you are a vendor at a farmers market, a nonprofit doing critical work, or a creator ready to build a brand that matches your vision, Studio 555 exists to give you the visibility your work has earned.

We believe every person building something real deserves a creative partner who can see the full picture. Not just a logo or a video, but the whole world their brand could inhabit. Studio 555 is being built to meet that need across every medium it takes.
